PSALM 118: 1-2, 19-29 Psalms 113 to 118 form what has been described as “A Cantata of Salvation” or alternatively “A Praise Package”. The first two verses of Psalm 118 give thanks for God’s enduring love for Israel whom He liberated from slavery to become His covenant people. PSALM 25:1-10 This psalm of David is the first one in the whole collection of psalms to be written in the acrostic fashion, each verse beginning with a letter of the Hebrew alphabet. (Not necessarily the first such form, but the first one in the book of psalms). It was clearly written in David’s later years as he asks for forgiveness of “the sins and errors of his youth” (v7).
